Rugged Mobile Computing for Demanding Environments
Rugged. Connected. Built to Perform.
SynTec works with Panasonic TOUGHBOOK to deliver rugged mobile computing solutions for organisations whose technology needs to keep working in environments where conventional laptops and tablets simply aren't designed to survive.
Panasonic has been developing TOUGHBOOK rugged mobile devices since 1996, with a portfolio of rugged laptops, tablets and 2-in-1 devices engineered to withstand drops, vibration, dust, water and extreme operating conditions.
Combined with SynTec's wider expertise across enterprise mobility, WiFi, networking, device management, vehicle integration and mounting, TOUGHBOOK gives us another powerful platform for taking business applications into warehouses, vehicles, manufacturing environments and the field.
Built for the Real World
When a Standard Laptop Isn't Enough
Enterprise mobile technology doesn't always live in an office. Engineers work outside. Warehouse teams work around forklifts and machinery. Field-service employees move between vehicles and customer sites. Manufacturing environments introduce dust, vibration and accidental impacts.
Panasonic TOUGHBOOK devices are engineered specifically around these conditions, with models offering MIL-STD-810H testing and IP-rated protection against environmental hazards.
That makes TOUGHBOOK particularly suited to:
Field Service
Warehousing & Logistics
Manufacturing
Transport
Utilities
Construction
Automotive
Emergency Services
Defence
Engineering & Maintenance
-
Mobility Without Compromise
Panasonic's fully rugged tablets provide the portability of a tablet while being engineered around demanding professional environments.
The current range includes the TOUGHBOOK G2 and TOUGHBOOK 33, with both capable of operating as tablets or 2-in-1 devices with optional keyboards.
This allows organisations to give mobile employees a single device capable of moving between different working environments.

Compact. Rugged. Adaptable.
The TOUGHBOOK G2 is Panasonic's compact 10.1-inch fully rugged Windows tablet.
It's tested to MIL-STD-810H, carries an IP65 rating and is rated for drops of up to 180cm. The current G2 generation also offers Intel Core Ultra processing, Wi-Fi 6E and optional 4G/5G connectivity.
What makes the G2 particularly interesting for enterprise deployment is its modular design.
Expansion areas allow the device to be configured around different applications, including options such as barcode scanning and thermal imaging.
That makes it a strong platform for:
Warehouse Operations
Asset Management
Field Engineering
Inspection
Maintenance
Manufacturing
Utilities
Vehicle-Based Applications
-
Tablet. Laptop. Vehicle Terminal.
The TOUGHBOOK 33 takes the 2-in-1 concept further with a 12-inch QHD display designed for professional field applications.
The detachable keyboard allows it to transition between a fully rugged tablet and laptop-style workstation, while Panasonic also supports vehicle-mounted workflows.
Its 3:2 display provides additional vertical viewing space that can be particularly useful for:
Technical Drawings
Mapping
Schematics
Engineering Applications
Forms & Documentation
Asset Management Systems
The TOUGHBOOK 33 is IP65 and MIL-STD-810H rated and supports hot-swappable batteries for extended operational use.
-
Full Windows Computing. Wherever You Need It.
Some applications still require the processing capability, keyboard and connectivity of a conventional laptop.
TOUGHBOOK provides rugged laptops designed to take that capability into environments where conventional business notebooks may struggle.
The current portfolio includes the TOUGHBOOK 55 and fully rugged TOUGHBOOK 40.
-
Rugged Without the Bulk
The TOUGHBOOK 55 is a 14-inch rugged Windows laptop designed to balance durability with everyday portability.
It carries MIL-STD-810H and IP53 ratings, supports modular expansion and offers hot-swappable battery options for extended operation.
This makes it particularly suitable for engineers and mobile employees who require a full laptop but regularly work outside conventional office environments.
-
Fully Rugged Computing
For more extreme environments, the TOUGHBOOK 40 provides a fully rugged 14-inch laptop platform.
Its magnesium-alloy chassis meets MIL-STD-810H and IP66 standards, with Panasonic specifying an operating temperature range from -29°C to +63°C.
The platform is also highly modular, allowing organisations to configure the hardware around specialist operational requirements.
This makes the TOUGHBOOK 40 particularly suited to demanding applications across field operations, public safety, defence, engineering and industrial environments.
-
Stay Connected Beyond the Office
A rugged device isn't much use if the employee can't access the applications and information they need.
Panasonic TOUGHBOOK platforms support a combination of connectivity technologies depending on model and configuration, including:
Enterprise WiFi
Bluetooth
4G / 5G
eSIM
GNSS / GPS
Vehicle Antenna Pass-Through
Panasonic specifically designs TOUGHBOOK around mobile and vehicle connectivity, including antenna optimisation for deployments where maintaining communication in difficult environments is important.
And this is where TOUGHBOOK fits particularly well within the wider SynTec portfolio.
-
Rugged Devices Need Rugged Connectivity
In warehouses, manufacturing facilities and other large operational environments, mobile computing depends heavily on the wireless infrastructure underneath it.
SynTec can look at the complete environment:

Business ApplicationsRather than treating the device and network as two separate projects, we can design the environment around how the mobile workforce actually operates.
-
Turn the Vehicle Into a Connected Workspace
TOUGHBOOK has a strong heritage in vehicle-based computing.
Panasonic provides docking and vehicle-integration solutions covering applications from commercial vehicles and field-service fleets through to forklifts and specialist transport environments. Panasonic Connect
A TOUGHBOOK can become the central computing platform within the vehicle for:
Navigation
Job Management
Diagnostics
Asset Management
Proof of Delivery
Inspection
Mapping
Communication
Business Applications
-
Professional Device Integration
This also creates a natural crossover with our RAM Mounts offering.
A complete vehicle or forklift solution could incorporate:

Business ApplicationThe result isn't simply a tablet bolted into a vehicle. It's a properly designed mobile workstation.
-
Configure the Device Around the Job
One of TOUGHBOOK's major advantages is configurability.
Different users often need completely different things from the same underlying computing platform.
An engineer may require additional connectivity.
A warehouse employee may need barcode scanning.
A field worker may need 5G and GPS.
A technician may need specialist interfaces.
Panasonic uses modular expansion across parts of the TOUGHBOOK portfolio, allowing devices to be configured more closely around the intended application.
This allows SynTec to start with the workflow and environment, then specify the device around it.
-
Keep Working Beyond a Single Battery
For business-critical mobile technology, battery life becomes part of the operational design.
Selected TOUGHBOOK devices support hot-swappable batteries, allowing batteries to be replaced without shutting down the device. Panasonic Connect
For organisations operating long shifts, this can significantly change how mobile devices are deployed.
Instead of:
Device Flat → Stop Working → Find Charger
the workflow becomes:
Low Battery → Swap Battery → Continue Working
-
Rugged Mobility Across the Operation
Panasonic specifically positions TOUGHBOOK for logistics and warehouse applications and has deployed its rugged devices in these environments for more than 20 years. A TOUGHBOOK deployment could support:

Field Service
Take the Office Into the Field
TOUGHBOOK is particularly strong where employees need access to full business applications while working away from a conventional office.
Field engineers can access:
Job Management
Technical Documentation
Drawings & Schematics
Asset Records
Inspection Forms
Photography
Diagnostics
Customer Information
Cloud Applications
And because the hardware has been designed around mobile working, the device can move between the vehicle, field and office.
